Crime writers beware … Especially if you’re half of a whodunit-writing duo, appearing at a literary festival, and you’ve just killed off your successful sleuth, famous for his knowledge of poisons. Well, that’s killed off any plans I have to co-write murder mysteries with my other half.
An entertaining, clever read, with lots of evocative words and phrases to remind us to be creative when penning our own stories: plucking, stretch, crackle, stumbled, slurred, judders and jerks, the taste of old pennies, teeth steeped in old tea…
What an excellent series this is. Must listen to some more.
